I had a surprise while packing today when I discovered that the spine on my old real analysis textbook discolored over the years. What’s remarkable is how uniform and how crisply cut the discoloration is, especially when I don’t think the book was really ever exposed to bright sunlight. The former ghastly pink spine is now a putrid lime green.
Saw an Emirates Airbus A380 parked at the gate today when landing at Beijing Capital International Airport. The telltale double-decker design makes this an easy plane to spot. Except for a short period during the 2008 Olympics, only now is the A380 flying regularly to Beijing.
