I had a surprise while packing today when I discovered that the spine on my old real analysis textbook discolored over the years. What’s remarkable is how uniform and how crisply cut the discoloration is, especially when I don’t think the book was really ever exposed to bright sunlight. The former ghastly pink spine is now a putrid lime green.
